The power of magnesium

Today started with a health coaching call with one of my excited clients who just discovered the power of magnesium. Really cool. She writes a daily blog www.theearthdietblogs.com/debbieSavesHerLife

When we are deficient with magnesium we can find it hard to relax and lose weight. We are often stressed and anxious. Magnesium relaxes our body and makes us feel so so good. When we are nourished with magnesium we can sleep like a baby! Foods that include magnesium are cacao powder (raw chocolate), Brazil nuts, dark leafy greens like kale, pumpkin seeds, cashews, flaxseeds, fish for meat eaters, bananas and strawberries. If you wonder why you crave chocolate so much - you could be craving the magnesium and that feel good sensation.

I had a huge glass of alkaline water - I said thank you and appreciated clean beautiful water.

Then had back to back coaching another client who is treating her MS. When treating MS eat a lot of foods with amino acids like quinoa, peanuts, Brazil nuts and eggs and fish for meat eaters. And lots of water! My client is on a total health plan for it that incorporates much more.

Then I made my usual superfood smoothie!

After that I had a couple tablespoons of hemps seeds for some protein.

Then I had some meetings and later went to NY Hair Co to get my hair done organically ;) event tomorrow - the Navel Walk in Huntington.

NY Hair Co always have fresh flowers - and a little note about how they are green and sustainable!

It's amazing how we can live in a modern world and be able to live a natural lifestyle.

I was so happy to spot this sunflower in NYC! Because its fall but it has been so beautiful and sunny.

Dinner was green juice from Juice Generation. Pure energy and medicine I love it.

Second dinner was lemon rice with peanuts in Central Park. Magical.

Dessert treas from Westerly market! Rice milk ice cream and Noah's Raw Chocolate! I ate the ice cream and was fulfilled so saving the chocolate for tomorrow!

My second dessert was grapefruit juice! 60% vitamin C.

Peace food

Today's lesson: Eat foods that leave us feeling peaceful!

Peaceful foods includes ingredients that are whole, plant based and in harmony with nature, and provide our body with proper nourishment through nutrition.

Foods that leave us feeling chaotic and stress the body included preservatives, chemicals, artificial sweeteners, aspartame, corn syrup, refined sugar, refined flour and GMOs!

Today I had the opportunity to have dinner with the beautiful Maria Marlowe (As seen on Dr Oz, The Daily Love and Ivanka Trump), and we went to one of our favorite places in New York City: Peacefood Cafe! There are two locations, one uptown (Upper West Side) and one downtown.

Peacefod cafe is totally plantbased/vegan and serves raw and cooked options! Peter the owner came by and said hello and mentioned that he and a partner started the concept of Peacefood when they turned vegan and wanted to create an environment to meet other vegans - as well as serve really delicious and healthy foods! I am so proud of him and his team - they have done a really great job!

Maria and I started with the Energize juice! Beet juice! This felt so cleansing. Juice gives instant energy it's really amazing the power of juice.

All of their water is triple filtered by the way.

Then we had the famous CHICKPEA FRIES. These are epic - and you can order them baked or fried. Fries made from chickpeas!

Next I had the wonton soup - so amazing and fulfilling, it's been years since I had wonton since most places only serve it with GMO ingredients - no thanks!

The setting in Peacefood Cafe is cosy, magical and well... Peaceful!

Dessert time is always the best! We had a slice of the divine cashew cheesecake! Cheesecake lovers have got to love this - delicious flavor PLUS antioxidants and nutrition!

And then we had to try their huge 2 layered chocolate cake.

Their entire dessert selection is impressive. Can you believe these are all plant based?

Dining at Peacefood is not expensive - you can eat for 2 people at around $50 including drink, dinner and dessert!

When in NYC it is a MUST! Nourish your body with peace and deliciousness.

Cleaner protein powder

Daily lesson: Always look for the healthier option.

Started the day with a lemon water. Felt alkalized.

Then had a Phresh Greens.

Then had my favorite smoothie! Recipe in new book!

One of the Earth Diet health coaches posted her son juicing! Isn't this amazing and so inspiring! Imagine starting that young!

Afternoon snack! Green juice in Central Park NYC.

I was appalled to find out about the protein powder my friend was taking! So I have him this one I had on hand thanks to Vitacost! Pea Protein! Totally clean - just peas! 15g protein not bad! If you have protein powder with preservatives it makes the body inflamed and acidic. Happy my friend is now drinking a healthier product!

Dinner was porridge! To warm my body in this fall weather. With coconut sugar!

Second dinner was black bean pasta with truffle oil, thyme from garden and real salt and pepper.

Dessert some raw chocolate!

Excited about the people who are signing up to become an Earth Diet ambassador to help with the book launch! I wish everyone was here with me now and we would have a big food party and enjoy and laugh and love and create an epic plan!

It was a friends birthday party today, Jessie Jean who is an Earth Diet Health Coach! I wanted to hand make her something so made this Cashew Ice Cream Bites with chocolate topping! And then gave her tiger nuts, tiger flour and IAM Mist! She loved her beautiful gift!

Dinner was the harvest soup made by Jessie Jean. Divine ingredients from the garden!

Also had this gluten free and dairy free Baked Ziti.

Enjoyed the garden and the chickens laid an egg!

Fire for the evening with friends and divine conversations.

Exercise today was riding my foot scooter. Yes it makes me happy and laugh.

Why do you eat?

I have been so busy the past few days with clients and health coaching! A common thing showing up in all the sessions are "You want to affirm before eating or drinking anything - that you are doing it to nourish your body." There is no other reason for eating or drinking, not for sabotaging. And if a client does eat junk food and it's done - here is what I recommend - Before or after eating junk food affirm that your intention is to nourish your body so anything you put into it is to do just that! This will help the digestion process. And then have a lemon water and fresh vegetable juice to get rid of those toxins.

When we always keep in mind that we are eating for nourishment - it changes all our choices.

Here is what I nourished myself with the past few days!

Tuesday morning started with these 3 power drinks! Phresh greens, green tea and bentonite clay! I drank them 20 minutes apart since I had 1 hour breakfast time before leaving out the door!

Then I went to NY Hair Co for an organic hair treatment!

After that I had lunch with George founder of Our True Roots - Tiger Nuts. We went to the one and only Pure Food and Wine! Had a huge salad!

And of course dessert!

Next it was time for the New's Emmys at Jazz Center Columbus Circle.

My Emmys snacks were hemp seeds...

And dinner was kale salad, egg plant and salmon.

Happy, healthy, grateful!

I slept in Tuesday morning and had this big carb breakfast whole wheat organic toast from Wholefoods and organic peanut butter!

With a green jasmine tea! Helps with digestion!

Afternoon snack was tiger nuts! Great travel companion!

A later afternoon snack was this green juice and snickers cake from One Lucky Duck! So grateful for this place. I had the green juice first.

I traveled next with One Lucky Duck mint ice cream made with cashews and a dehydrated cookie! This actually ended up being my dinner.

Breakfast Wednesday morning was this hearty porridge with vitacost honeycomb. Wanted something warm for this season change!

Lunch was superfood smoothie! My favorite from new book.

This photo made my day! Debbie won the Earth Diet Transformation giveaway the signed Anita Moorjani Audio!

For dinner I picked some parsley, sage and thyme from my friends garden. I love this!

And made black bean pasta with chopped tomatoes and herbs sauce!

For dessert I made cashew ice cream bites with chocolate on top! Mmm favorite!

And this was my breakfast also! I got out of bed with excitement when I remembered I had them in the freezer.

I had Mac n cheese for lunch - recipe in new book! Dairy free and gluten free and amazing!

Dinner was smoothie!  And hot tub! Nourishing my body in multiple ways!

Today Saturday I started the day with lemon water and Phresh Greens.

Lunch was a smoothie!

Dinner I ordered Indian! Veg curry and rice! I craving warmth and spices!
I also had a lot of coconut this week for snacks!

I'm really happy with how much nutrition I got this week, and how many meals I handmade. Next week more herbal teas, green juice and would like a beet juice too.
