How I come up with my recipes!

Hi friends!

I have been asked how I can come up with so many recipes! To date I have made hundreds of original recipes that I share on The Earth Diet website! Honestly, it comes naturally for me. Remember that my mother is a gardener and my father a chef, so I have those genes which sure are helpful! I basically make up recipes for whatever foods and drinks I am craving! I just use the cleanest ingredients possible to make up the recipe.

I have thousands more ideas, and it's just a matter of time when I can make them! This is one reason I started sharing one brand new recipe everyday on the website as the "Daily Recipe" #DailyRecipe So that in a few years there will literally be a library of recipes on the website for you too choose from.

My recipes certainly have improved. Years ago critics said my recipes were not formulated properly, as I would just make something and then tell you to 'add this and that' without giving proper measurements! Now my recipes are so organized and well explained, and constantly improving. My total time also includes preparation. Most of my recipes are made under 30 minutes, and a lot of them under 10 minutes. Most of my recipes are ridiculously simple!

Last year, according to Facebook alone my recipes got over 126,000 shares! On Sunday I posted a new recipe that I was really excited about, I dreamt about this recipe, and then I drew it on paper...

The first design of the Raw Strawberry Cashew Cheesecake
And then I made it! I shared it to facebook and I knew that people would love it, some recipes are hits and some just aren't. This recipe got over 5,000 shares in 48 hours!

You can get the recipe at this link: http://www.theearthdiet.org/25/post/2014/02/raw-strawberry-cashew-cheesecake.html

A recipe has star qualities if:
1. It is completely natural - using whole ingredients
2. Is dairy free, soy free, refined sugar free, chemical free, preservative free
3. Is lush and delicious, as well as providing the body with nutrition!
4. Can aid weight loss or help maintain excellent health
5. Made in 30 minutes or less and extremely simple

So that is how I come up with my recipes! My body has a craving for something, or I get a light bulb idea, I often draw them, then I get the ingredients and make them.

From everything I have done in my life, the thing I am most proud about myself are my recipes. My recipes have not only saved my life, helped me heal a tumor the size of a golf ball and also break my addiction to binge eating on junk food, but have also helped thousands of other people around the world! It is great that we are living in an age where we can enjoy our favorite foods while they also provide us with nutrition.

Here is my next design that I will make this week:

Yum very excited about this one also!
I would really love to see your recipes too! If you have a recipe you want to show off and share with the world email them to me at info@theearthdiet.org It is all about working together as a team and sharing health! #ShareHealth

Did you know not all wine is vegan?

I was so surprised to find out that not all wine is vegan (or vegetarian)!!! I figured since wine is grapes that surely no animals are used in the making of wine! WRONG! I was dining one night at Pure Food and Wine (One of my favorite plant based restaurants to eat in NYC!) and I was looking at the selection of organic wines, and some had a "V" next to them meaning Vegan and others didn't. I asked Joey the Beverage Director "Isn't all wine vegan?" He answered "Noooo." Wow whatttttt and I figured a lot of others did not this. When I was younger my father who is an earth  man through and through showed me how he made wine on his acreage, and it in no way included using any animals. He even crushed the grapes with feet - talk about whole and natural!

If you weren't already aware of wine using animal products I am sure you will find it just as fascinating and also want to know what you are consuming! So here is how animals are used in the process of making wine:

(Resource from: http://www.thekitchn.com/as-it-is-vegan-week-136676)
"The reason that all wines are not vegan or even vegetarian-friendly has to do with how the wine is clarified and a process called ‘fining’.  All young wines are hazy and contain tiny molecules such as proteins, tartrates, tannins and phenolics. These are all natural, and in no way harmful. However, we wine-drinkers like our wines to be clear and bright.
Most wines, if left long enough, will self-stabilize and self-fine. However, traditionally producers have used a variety of aids called ‘fining agents’ to help the process along. Fining agents help precipitate out these haze-inducing molecules. Essentially, the fining agent acts like a magnet – attracting the molecules around it. They coagulate around the fining agent, creating fewer but larger particles, which can then be more easily removed.
Traditionally the most commonly used fining agents were casein (a milk protein) ,albumin (egg whites), gelatin (animal protein) and isinglass (fish bladder protein). These fining agents are known as processing aids. They are not additives to the wine, as they are precipitated out along with the haze molecules."

Gross, gross, gross, gross! I prefer not to consume casein, gelatin and especially isinglass!
I also found this on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarianism_and_wine
"Bull's blood is also used in someMediterranean countries but is not allowed in the U.S. or Europe"
"Fining with casein and albumin is usually acceptable by most vegetarians but all four are off limits for vegans because tiny traces of the fining agent may be absorbed into the wine during the fining process."
Even though I am not a vegan, I pick and choose when to consume meat, and I prefer to live a majority plant based diet - as that really works for me - however when I am drinking wine I definitely prefer it to be vegan - that is one place where I think consuming animal products is unnecessary.

So thank goodness for "A New Direction"
"...There is good news. Today many winemakers use clay-based fining agents such as bentonite clay, which are particularly efficient at fining out unwanted proteins.Activated charcoal is another vegan and vegetarian-friendly agent that is also used.
In addition, the move to more natural winemaking methods, allowing nature to take its course, means more vegan and vegetarian-friendly wines. An increasing number of wine producers around the globe are electing not to fine or filter their wines, leaving them to self-clarify and self-stabilize. Such wines usually mention on the label ‘not fined and/or not filtered’.
Apart from mentioning whether it has been fined or filtered, wine labels typically do not indicate whether the wine is suitable for vegans or vegetarians, or what fining agents were used. There has been much lobbying to change the US wine labeling laws to include ingredient listing. But so far it is not compulsory. "
It can be challenging to find a wine that is vegan as well as organic as well as not containing sulfates but they are out there in the market. You can always order online, and even ask your local liquor store to order them in.

Here is a brand I like as it has all 3 qualities: Orleans Hill
1. Vegan
2. Organic
3. No sulfates

You could buy online: vintnersalliance.com/Vegan-Wines

Here are some stores that stock vegan wines:
In New York Appellation Wines in Manhattan and The Natural Wine Company in Brooklyn, where knowledgeable staff were readily able to suggest many vegan-friendly wines.
Examples include ‘Jenny & François Selections' and 'Louis Dressner Selections'.

For the person who feels defeated and disempowered right now

Whether you want to give up on your health; losing weight, healing acne, cancer, diabetes, or another type of disease, this verse may be helpful to push you over into thinking "I CAN do this."

"If you THINK you are beaten, you are,
If you THINK you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win, but you THINK you can't,
It is almost certain you won't.

If you THINK you'll lose, you're lost,
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow's will-
It's all in the STATE OF MIND.

If you THINK you are outclassed, you are,
You've got to THINK high to rise,
You've got to be SURE OF YOURSELF before
You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN."

When I feel defeated and disempowered I move myself out of it, I know it is not always easy but it can be done! I listen to inspiring stories on youtube, or read empowering books or verses like above. When I am surrounded by these conversations it is MUCH HARDER to feel defeated and give up. I just keep going and I know you can too!

If you are overweight and feel like you have to be that way for the rest of your life, you will be. But if you stay open and take one day at a time working TOWARDS YOUR GOAL, you can lose that weight! YOU CAN YOU CAN YOU CAN!

My new book out in 270 days!

Why I wrote the Earth Diet book!

The main point of the Earth Diet book is to help people transform their health through this natural lifestyle.

I wrote the book originally because you guys were asking me to! I had written in my blog (this blog) every single day since I started "The Earth Diet Challenge" to eat only foods that earth provided naturally for 365 days! So after a year of blogs, and recipes you asked me to share everything in a book!

I had no idea how to get a book published, but I knew I wanted to make one on recycled paper so I went to a local New York printing company (Viking Solutions) and had them make it!

I believe my story is unique because firstly of my upbringing, and then because of my own healing journey.

My father is a chef, and my mother is a terrific gardener, and together they made me! I grew up majority of my life in Outback Australia, in Alice Springs! A lot of my friends were aboriginal people and from a young age I was taught how to survive from nature.

Then when I finished school I moved to Brisbane City where I started to live a convenient lifestyle and became addicted to junk foods. Every day I would tell myself I won't eat junk foods tomorrow, I'll start again tomorrow. Tomorrow never came I just fell into a vicious cycle of junk food eating!

Then one day the wake up call of my life happened! A tumor popped in my throat! It was the size of a golf ball! I knew if I changed my lifestyle to a natural one that I could heal myself without using conventional medicine or treatments like surgery or radiation. So in 3 months of juicing, raw foods, natural foods, natural treatments and no junk food the tumor was gone!

Since that experience I have dedicated my life to sharing this story with the world and helping other people to live a natural lifestyle.

I hope readers will use this book as access to having the health they want.

I also hope readers use it as their complete guide to living using earths natural ingredients! I do believe my new book is complete, and has all the tools you need to know how to live powerfully and naturally. It comes with recipes and tips and health education that you will know for the rest of your life.

The new book is out in 271 days!

Your opinion might be different to the doctors

If you are extremely ill right now and it seems all odds are against you and you are in between giving up on physical life and accepting death instead, or wondering if you will survive because a part of you also wants to continue on, then you might find this excerpt from "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill useful.

Whether you have cancer, acne scars that you believe may be with you for life, diabetes, a rare disease, cellulite, excess weight you believe you can never shed, heart disease or any other illness, Napoleon Hill proves in this book multiple times how people are using their desire to achieve what they really want.

He says "Several years ago, one of my business associates became very ill. He became worse as time went on, and finally was taken to the hospital for an operation. The doctor warned me that there was little chance of ever seeing him alive again. But that was the doctors opinion. It was not the opinion of the patient. Just before he was wheeled away, he whispered feebly, "Do not be disturbed Chief, I will be out of here in a few days." The attending nurse looked at me with pity. But the patient did come through safely. After it was all over, his physician said 'Nothing but his own desire to live saved him.' Be never would have pulled through if he had not refused to accept the possibility of death."

"I believe in the power of desire backed by faith, because I have seen this power lift men from lowly beginnings to places of power and wealth; I have seen it rob the grave of its victims; I have seen it serve as the medium by which men staged a come back after having been defeated in a hundred different ways; I have seen it provide my own son with a normal, happy, successful life, despite Natures having sent him into the world without ears.

Through some strange and powerful principle of "mental chemistry" which she has never divulged, Nature wraps up in the impulse of strong desire "that something which recognizes no such words as impossible, and accepts no such realty as failure."

This is true for me too. When a pre-cancerous tumor popped in my neck, my desire was to heal it naturally and continue living. I did not accept it to get worse and for me to get more ill. I did not ever explore that path of the tumor getting worse. And in 3 months the tumor was gone.

Another story that is fascinating and extremely inspiring, and a man who really tested what actually is possible, he is know as "The miracle man", Morris Goodman who crashed his plane and was paralyzed from head to toe. The doctors said he would be a "vegetable" for the rest of his life. A machine was keeping him alive and helping to get oxygen to his body. He said "that's how the doctors saw me but I didn't. I started to piece my body back together one by one, using my mind. First I started to breathe on my own. Then one body part by body part started to connect. I kept visualizing a vision of me walking out of the hospital by Christmas. Death and failure was not an option." And by Christmas he WALKED out of the hospital.

It shows us what is possible. And I'm not at all saying doctors are wrong or bad, they are extremely intelligent human beings who have helped millions of people. This blog is intended to show you what is possible even with a doctors opinion that you may never survive or you will be stuck with an illness for the rest of your life. It's ultimately you who chooses what possibility to live into. You may need to be constantly surrounded by inspiring stories that keep you in the "anything is possible" world. Listen to them non-stop, and read about them constantly so that there is no room for doubt.

I am excited about all the possibilities that exist. My new book the Earth Diet that has over 300 recipes to assist the body in healing and nourishing and comes out in 275 days!

Guilt with eating...

"Some guilt occurs when you do something that you believe is wrong. For instance, if you believe that cigarette smoking is harmful and low-vibrational, and you still smoke, your betraying yourself and the rest will be guilt. Same thing if you believe it's wrong to eat junk food, get drink, have an affair, cheat on an exam... And yet you do these things anyway. As long as you're engaged in behaviors you feel bad about, guilt will be the natural consequence."

This is from Doreen Virtues new book "Assertiveness for Earth Angels".

"Guilt is a very low-vibrational energy. The angels say that guilt clips the wings if lightworkers. It makes us less effective as healers and manifestos.

So if your engaging in behaviors you don't feel good about, there are two ways to handle this:

1. Stop doing the behavior!
This is likely the healthiest route to take. Admittedly, it's not the easiest path, but that's why following this option makes you stronger and raises your self-esteem.

2. Change what you believe about the behavior!
Guilt is more toxic than any behavior you can engage in. So if your going to continue with it, it's essential that you let go of guilt surrounding it. Meditate, pray, do research, talk to trusted people. And take other healthy steps to realign your beliefs about the behavior so that you can truly engage in it guilt-free."

These are great tips from Doreen (Hay House Author) for handling guilt, especially around food and eating! I am happy to share them with you all so we can all be free of guilt.

It's 280 days to the new Earth Diet book launch! I have included over 300 recipes for helping relieve guilt, anxiety and depression around food. My ideas are that we can still eat chocolate and cheesecake (made with cashews) for example, and our favorite tastes and flavors, BUT using earths natural ingredients! Eating this way results in no or less guilt as each meal, even the cashew ice cream, is packed with vitamins, nutrients and protein! It's hard to feel guilty about eating tastes we love while also getting so much nourishment in our bodies! I am committed to living a guilt free life! Guilt sucks!

Glorious Queens and Slavegirls

"At every moment, a woman makes a choice: between the state of a queen and the state of a slavegirl."

This is from Marianne Williamson's book "A Woman's Worth".

"In our natural state, we are glorious beings. In the world of illusion, we are lost and imprisoned, salves to our appetites and our will to false power. Our jailer is a three-headed monster: one head our past, one our insecurity, and one our pop culture.

Our past is a story existing only in our minds. Look, analyze, understand and forgive. Then as quickly as possible, chuck it.

Our insecurity is inevitable in the absence of personal meaning. Without a sense if connection to deeper, more noble ideas, we are doomed to a desperate struggle for things that fill us up: the job, the relationship, the looks, the body. We are tyrannized by a belief that we are inadequate. No nazi with a machine gun could be a more tormenting presence.

The monsters third head is the pop culture we collectively spend billions of dollars supporting each year. It does not support us in return.

We must reclaim our goodness as well as our power.

Nothing in this world can take us home. Only the radar in our hearts can do that, and when it does, we return to our castles. There we are crowned in gold, and we remember how to laugh, how to love, how to rule.

A princess is a girl who knows that she will get there, and who is on her way perhaps but is not there yet. She has the power but she does not yet would it responsibly. She is indulgent and frivolous. She stomps her feet and does not know how to contain her pain or use it creatively.

A queen is wise. She has earned her serenity, not having had it bestowed on her but having passed her tests. She has suffered and grown more beautiful because of it. She has proven she can hold her kingdom together. She cares deeply about something bigger than herself. She ruled with authentic power.

The purpose of life as a woman is to ascend to the throne and rule with heart.

The growth of a girl into a woman, a princess into a queen, is not a liberal transition. Like any true creative flow, it is radical.

The actualized woman is powerful unto herself and gives birth to things divine. Today we have the chance to give birth to a healed and transformed world.

Today we have the chance to give birth to a healed and transformed world. This cannot be done without a major uprising of the glorious in women, because nothing can be healed without the female powers that nurture and protect, intuit and endure. What does this mean for the individual woman living day to day in a world that resists her expansion and makes her wrong for her passions? It means finding others who have seen the same light. There are everywhere, and like us await instruction.

The queen is calm and happy. She creates order where there was none. She has grown new eyes. When a woman rises up in glory, her energy is magnetic and her sense of possibility contagious. We have all seen glorious women, full of I terrify and joy, aware of it, proud of it, overflowing with love, they shine.

We don't have to do anything to be glorious; it is our nature. Nothing needs to be added to that to establish our worth. Just stand there. Sit there. Smile. Bless."

Reading this from Marianne's book today reminded me that when I was binge eating on junk food, and in the vicious cycle of addiction it was a living hell - a total nightmare. I am so relieved to be free of that part of my life, and it took time but I broke through it, and now living the Earth Diet lifestyle and using the recipes help me to maintain my new peace with health. I know there is more to life than just food, but nourishing our bodies is a huge part of it.

If you want to have a breakthrough with your health I offer downloadable programs under $20 that you can do for 21 days. It is a guide with recipes and tips to apply to your life. I designed them exactly for people like us who want to restore love, integrity, peace and harmony back in the body.

And if you don't want to spend any $ you don't have to. My number one intention is the reason I offer recipes for free on my website, because I want to help others, especially women to be healthy and at peace with food. My new book has over 300 recipes. I am excited and so grateful to share it with you. It comes out in 281 days and is available for pre-ordering already on Amazon.

When I was eating junk food every day, and the starving myself the next day to "cleanse" out the toxins, I really thought I was the only one on earth acting like that! I didn't tell a single soul of my behavior for 5 years! Until I started this blog. Being able to blog and create recipes for myself and for you all has saved my life. Thank you so much.
